Some Preliminary steps for Product listing:
There are some prior steps that you have to follow before listing your product on Amazon are discussed below.
UPC Code:
It is a Unique Product Code identifier. You have to buy this code before listing of your product. You have to put this code at a specific place when you are listing the product. It is a long series of numbers and a graphic that checkout staff scan in order to make a sale. Code can be purchased from different websites but the websites should be trusted and genuine. One of the most established sites to buy UPC codes is GS11 which is recommended by
Amazon. If you have variations in your products, then you have to buy the UPC individually for each variation.
Pictures:
Pictures of the products which you need to upload while doing a listing of the product are equally important for listing. Fine and clear pictures are needed to accompany your listing. The picture should contain 1000 pixels and this criterion is given by Amazon. You have to place a white background while making images. You can also take help from Google online tools to alter your image and four photographs are necessary against each product listing.
Weight and Dimensions of the Product:
While listing your product on Amazon, first you have to check the weight and dimensions of your competitor’s product. Your listing will be considered as a cheat if the dimension or weight is the same as your competitor’s product.
Keywords:
Keywords are target words within your listing which will be searched by your potential buyer when looking to make a purchase. There are various tools available to find the keywords for any specific product and amazon also provides the option of finding keywords by using Amazon’s auto-suggest tool. The best approach for using keywords is to use as many as you can but be attentive that there will be no repetition in those selected keywords.
Category:
After getting all the product essentials, the next step is to select the related category in which you want to sell your product. While choosing the category, you should select the same category as similar products which are best-sellers. Check the bestselling items similar to your product and select category and subcategory accordingly.
